Lets get this started. I Like to introduce myself, even though you all might know me, I think private member we all need to. I really dont know much about some of you, I really would like to know more on Lady M, :D
what you sell, your format ect...
Anyway.
Im SUNIL, I have been in this buisness for close to a year now. Before I actually started buying I researched this business for 2 years before I got the will to make a purchase but then I just went for it. I Started with very little investment 600 bucks got a load, one after the other I was sucessful on whatever load I got.
My first load started with Sams Club grocery, much of my first loads had bluk grocery items that Sams club carries, I sell this at fleamarkets. My inital plan was to make sure everything was sold before I got my next load and I have been doing good with that. I used craigslist as one way to sell the rest of what I had left at cost or little under it was usually stuff that would have been hard to sell or things that I did not want to sell. Ive also got electronic loads with other mixed items and they have also been good for me, consider it luck or im just that good. ;) Well recently I have been working on new contacts and new places for merchandise my market niche has always been on getting things that are a nessessity. Im in works on getting toilet paper, and paper towels, or anything else that would sell no matter how bad the ecomomy gets. Another thing I do is drop my prices little by little when I see that they are not selling. I usually start with few bucks lower then regular retail and then go down in price day to day weekend to weekend if anything left from previous weekends.
What Im wanting out of this buisness is success for myself while knowing that im finding a deal for my customers. The money I make is to re-invest in the buiness as well to pursue other business intrests. Im playing this game with all money I have made so that I can work on making life better for others. Sounds maybe fake but its true, I think life should be about others, its not all about the money but I have learned its hard to get things done with out it, if you have money its easy, its possible without but more work. I want to build a name for the deeds I have committed. Along with better life for others I want a better life for my family Mother and Aunts and uncles, Whole family. I dont care too much on myself.
The excitment of the business alone makes me comeback. Everytime I get a new load I am so excited to go threw it and sell.
There is much to learn about me and If you read some of what I have wrote in other posts you should learn more, and I am here to help with what ever I can if you need it just ask but please dont ask for freebie sources, even though im a sucker in giving them out. (most of it is posed any way!!)
Also I forgot to mention Im a young seller so I have so much to grow even though I have learned alot. Im 20 years old and go to college while also working full time on the weekdays, along with this business on the weekends. So please if you contact me I try hard to keep up with this forum and will answer your question same day but please be patient.
Make sure that you look the forums before asking the same question thats one thing many of us hate. We dont like handing things out work and then you will succeed.

I want to work in this business for the fun the excitement and of corse the money. I just want to be able to work for myself b/c having a job sucks b/c i am a type 1 diabetic and some times i feel like crap and cant get to work. I am 18 years old 19 this summer. I did not finish high school b/c my diabetes got in the way. But i look at it as a good thing thats when i started geting into this stuff and have learned alot. I have alot to learn yet but i find all of this fun and hope that i can make this my job and have a great time doing it. I have been buying off ebay and reselling stuff and also some other sites. i bought a gen merch pallet from ninos but lost money b/c it had lots of crap on it plus the shipping was high. But thats all part of the learning process. I look forword to dealing and talking to yall in the future.

Hi, I am so new I don't understand this website. ;) I have tried calling the 877 number for weeks now and all I get is a message center. Please help me out and let me know what this is all about. I am involved in wholesale, have been for about a year now. Started on ebay selling just a couple of items I had around the house, then I bought pallets which I mainly sold at flea markets. I tried, and tried to get some help in buying my first truckload, but no one called me back. I made my first truckload purchase yesterday. I have another one due in next week. Please someone tell me what this 877 number is for? Thank you

Wow good to see so many young entrepreneurs in here. It's good to have this community where we'll be able to share some growing pains and hopefully learn from each other. I've been doing this for about 7 months now, bought my first pallet from Greg and have been searching for my niche since.
I love visiting this site to read about people's experiences and gaining more insight to this industry. I buy locally from mom and pop stores that are closing down, overstocks etc. I've sold tools, home appliances, and about to start electronics and looking to start working overseas. I have a lot of good resources for purchasing but I'm still searching for something to settle in. I'm located in Southern California so if anyone ever wants to do some work together down here send me a PM. I'll be chiming in once in a while with deals that I dig up that might work for some people here.

First off, thank you Greg for taking the time to talk with me yesterday. I do have a question that has confused me, and I did search for the answer. I am human an may have missed it, so if it has been asked before, I am sorry I didn't catch it. I was at the flea market the other doing a bit of selling, but mostly trying to get to know the vendors to see if I could start selling to them. One of the vendors told me he buys at 10% below wholesale. This is not the first time I have heard a statement like this. Is there a certain percentage of retail that makes it become wholesale? How do you buy below wholesale? I thought anything below retail was wholesale. Thanks for your help. Rita

Most everything you find that is being liquidated will be selling at well below that guys percentage. If I understood you correctly, the guy is buying @ 90% of wholesale costs which is 10% below wholesale. You can buy things for 10-20% of wholesale costs depending on what product and where your buying it from, which would be 80-90% below wholesale costs which totally demolishes that guy.
Depending on which liquidator/retailer you are buying products from, they will sell you at a percentage of retail or wholesale costs. It varies from different companies.
"Wholesale" costs are what the retailer purchased the product for. The retailer then marks up the price, this new price is called the "retail" price.

Thank you for your response. That is what I thought, but after a couple of people used the same phrase I was beginning to think I might have missed something. Rita

Hi.. My name is JoAnn and I am around Austin, Texas. I feel kind of old compared to the rest of you because I will be 41 this coming week.
My sister and I have been looking into the wholesale business for about 6 months. We have been searching and searching for information on it and we came across this site. First of all I think this is a wonderful site and thank you for letting us in. We have been reading and reading as you have a lot of information to share and we are trying not to miss any of it and ask questions that have already been asked.

That is the spirit Joann. Read everything and ask all you want later. Welcome. The education process on this site will lead you in the right direction. I truly doubt you will find a more informative site that so freely gives.
