JoAnn, I'm in Austin. Send me a PM if you are interested in getting started with a pallet or two at a fair price. I bring in a few pallets every week and can sell you one off my loads. Shipping can make buying 1-2 pallets prohibitive in our area since not many of the good suppliers are close by. This was a problem I had when I first started.

He got to you before I could recommend him. I spoke to him on phone awhile back. He knows what he is doing and I'm sure will guide you to success.

We have bought 1 pallet so far I am not sure it was a good move but you have to start somewhere. After paying for it we found out it would take 2 weeks to get it an we found that a little odd. It was a Goody's Pallet and the man said it was a Manufacturer Overstock. Has anyone heard of this before? I have found out the shipping charges are pretty high to Austin Titan. I will send you a pm Thanks for any help or advise.

I'm pretty sure I know where you got it. It is a supplier in Austin that sells lots of low retail value manufacturing overstock, production overruns, and cancelled orders. Their stuff probaby isn't really good to get started with. That is where I bought my first pallets and I lost money - the only time I've lost money. They do take a couple weeks to fulfill orders even though they have it in stock. Not sure why that is.
Right now I am dealing in returns from Walmart, Sears, and Kmart. I also work with Macys a lot but have been staying away lately due to low supply in what I sell. I sell electronics, general merchandise, and small appliances. I can get you good pallets in those categories.

I'm Anthony, I've been buying and fixing Xbox 360's and primarily buying from ebay users and direct from some ebay power sellers. But I would like to buy atleast 10 at a time for very very low cost. The one offs I've been getting have been about $40-$100 depending on models ect... I called Walmart to see about going direct and they told me Jacobs Trading deals with their returns, ect. I called them but the sales guy want's me to buy 400-500 units at time, which will have to wait. During my hunt online I found this website and think its great. I'm actually considering getting a pallet of general merch too now. I'm in Northen NJ and there is a big flea market at Giants Stadium on Saturdays. But again my primary focus is to be able to purcharse a larger quantity of Xbox's at a good price per unit.

Hello my name is Wisdom and I am currently in bussines with my wife and we sell various new and used items online and at our local flea market. We are a young couple wih three small children. We want to locate ne leads and increas the amount of goods we have for sale as well as the amount Of money we make. We joined this group because we are looking for more insight. We've purchase liquidated goods in the past just trying things out and our last purchase was a total flop. So we realized that we needed to get more familar with the business before we make any more huge investments. Our niche items are designer shoes, pottery barn home goods and laundary & sewing items. We'll forward to joining this community
Thanks.

While I have been a member of this site for several months, I probably read more than I post. I have dabbled in the liquidation biz before and have mixed results. Overall, I have done well. I have done a total of 4 things. One was a case lot of "Pocket Binoculars" from a source that were misrepresented because they were kids binoculars. I voiced my concerns because the pictures were of something else. I did receive my refund, and still ended up with merchandise. In the end, I guess it was a win. I bought a pallet from viaTrading.com; however, this pallet was about 50% trash (the better stuff) and was missing a small portion of the expensive manifest. The said that they would make good; however, in the end, really did nothin. My thoughts were is that is all part of the game. I bought several lots from Genco... One I did extremely well on, and the other, I broke even. Overall, I am happy with my experiences. I do plan on moving forward with my ventures.
I live in Oregon and look for west coast places to buy my stuff. Freight can be a killer for me. If anyone knows where good places to buy in my neighborhood, I would greatly appreciate.
My name is Matt. Looking forward to learning more!

HELLO EVERYONE,
My name is Hari and I recently came across this fabulous website. I actually have been selling on Ebay, and out of pure curiosity, started researching department store liquidation programs, wondering how all these power sellers were able to get there hands on all this great merchandise.
I have gone through the motions, to get my sellers permit, and EIN, and also just recently filled out the registration papers for Federated. I am so excited!! In a few days, I should have my log in info. However, what once was a ebay selling curiosity, has turned into the excitement of starting in the liquidation industry, which I am new to. My Husband recently lost his corp. job, and with 2 small children at home, we are hoping to try to kick this off in these hard economic we face. I just would like to THANK YOU for all the very helpful information that has been provided in this forum!!! I am excited to learn all the ins and outs of this business!!
I will say that I was a little disappointed with the detail in the Federated contract. It mentioned the defacing and delabeling of there private labels, but really did not mention much. For someone like me that is new to this, I am wondering how you are able to sell these private labels if they have no labels ,and what about the shoes and handbags? how do you possibly get around this? If you sell the private label merchandise to someone like on ebay, you cannot advertise that it is that label? If you sold the merchandise to someone else lets say wholesale, do you have to have them sign an agreement as well? I am confused on this subject, if anyone has input on this, please let me know.
I will let everyone know how my first pallet goes...soon enough I hope.

Hello All! I am new to the whole process. I am looking to buy and sell at our local flea market, CL and EB and possibly open up some brick and mortars in 3 different cities. I am currently in Houston, TX. I am here to get started and do research, gathering all of the information I can. I have learned so much already on the first post :D I'm super excited and ready to dive right in. I am open to different types of goods and just looking to learn all I can from others here. Thanks in advance for all of your knowledge and expertise!

Hello All,
My name is Ny and I am new to this site. I am a stay at home mom to 5 precious children and always looking for ways to supplement my husbands income. I have been searching for information that would show me how to buy direct from the department stores like Macys, Walmart, Kohls, etc.
I read about getting contracts to do this somewhere but do not remember where and can not wait to find out this information so I can get started. I have sold on Ebay and even purchased wholesales lots. To my surprise, the individual selling these products purchased them for pennies on the dollar. I would like to be able to do this myself so I have joined this group to gain some valuable information that will take me to the next level. I also know about a couple of liquidation websites where you can buy or bid on lots but I have not done so yet as I mentioned above, I would like to buy direct from the stores if possible. I mainly use to sell children clothes but looking to add different items and looking to sell at flea markets. I already have a resale certificate and tax ID number.
I am really hoping that this site will help me to achieve my goals. Thank you!

Hey Everyone,
I've been a member here for less than a month. Since we're close to the holidays, business has slowed down and I've finally got a chance to post here. My husband and I have been in business for over 5 years. However, dealing with overstock/liquidation merchandise is very new to us. Well hopefully I will find some posts where I can make useful contributions. Thank you for the venue!

Hi I’m JD. I live in southern California. I’ve been selling online for a few years. I sell mostly New and Used CDs, DVDs and Video Games. I have done ok on a small scale, but now I want to go bigger. I still have not bought my first pallet yet. I know finding a good middle man that does not cherry-pick in the category I sell in, is going to be hard.
This board has the best free info out there, THANKS.

Hey everyone!
I am David from DFW Texas area. Me and a friend have been doing business together for about 4-5 years. Maily selling motorcycle parts/accessories on Ebay. We had a retail location in Dallas a few years back, but things started to get slow so we moved out of the office.Even have a website STUNTME dot com. We manufacture and import motocycle body work as well as other billet items. After researching on close outs and returns we bought a few pallets of Dell computer monitors as well as dvd players. That was a great thing and we look forward to purchasing more. After we decide on which ave we want to take we will run with it! This forum is very informative and has lots of great info. I can see that everyone is very helpful and has worked thier butts off to get where they are. We really look forward to working with everyone in reaching a higher goal.
Thanks!
David
