Ok lets first discuss criaglist scams.

Im sure many of you who use this as a selling medium know, that there are many scammers who send you emails on wanting to purchase your goods.

One thing that I see common in their emails are

Is the item still available?
Can you ship to UK,Africa or any othere state?
Will you take cashiers check or wire transfer?
Is that the last asking price?....

Even when you have answered these quesions in your post they ask you stupid quesitons.

95% of the time when you get this type of response just ignore them. If more and more would follow this at some point these scammers would stop using craiglist for scams.

Another thing to beware is meeting in deserted places. (inless you dont mind maybe dying  :( )
There are many bad people in this macys liquidation so it would be safe for you to meet somewhere there is more crowds.
Let someone know where your going and bring along more people.

Watch out for counterfeit money. Never happend to me but hey it can. I always check the money anyway HeHe ;D!!

That seems like whats new with criaglist scams, times are chainging and scammers are finding  new ways,
If you have anything else on craiglist scams post them here.

I have a problem with this bit advice.
When i see a listing on craigslist the very first thing I ask is if its still available.
I mean... what are you supposed to say when responding to a listing?
Common sense would say ppl will take a listing down when its sold but we all know many ppl dont even know how to go in and delete or even edit their posts.

When I get asked if something is still available and they don't have anything else in their note, that is almost always one of the nigerian scammers.  I'll reply yes and later I get a response with the ole' "I'm sending you a cashiers check" routine.  Now if someone asks me if it is available and where can they come get it, or something like that, you know it is legitimate.

Maybe that's why half of my inquiries go unanswered.
Im in no mood to chat ppl up or coux them out of their holes for the goods.
If they want to sell something (and I am assuming they want to sell) then they should answer inquiries.
Then again. There are so many things on craigslist for every 1 that wont reply a simple inquiry there are 9 that instantly will.

I rarely even inquire about an add without a phone number, even if I am going to contact by e-mail.  And when I put a number up I have never had a scammer call me.

Maybe folks over there are more open but down here in Atlanta people are pretty scared (for some reason).
Most listings dont come with phone numbers.  Even worst, some will add their phone number but only accept text messages and emails as forms of communications.  If I call it goes to VM.  If I text, I get an answer in 2 minutes.  Even if I add my number at the end to call me... they reply via email.
Its not like its during work hours or anything.  They are just afraid for some reason.  I once spent 2 days (sporadic emails) trying to get someone to give me a contact number, give me a call or at least meet me at a public place so I could seal the deal.  Ridiculous!

Mind you, this is not the norm but 3 out of 10 cases are like this.  Maybe they aren't on the up and up and selling shadey goods.  Come to think of it this only really happens when I am hunting for high end electronics and such.
Well, now that I am going to be a liquidator I hope I dont have to go through that drama anymore.

It is good to use a throw a way phone.
I find the more aggressive iam when the customer calls leads to a quick sale.

The might say I am calling about your craigs list ad. I cut them off what piece of merchandise do you want to buy. Then i ask where are you.
Then i tell them how long it is going to get to my house. If it is a higher dollar item I put it in the truck and go get the money.Remember DO NOT BE AFFRAID TO TELL SOMEONE TO GO FUCK THEMSELVES
IT IS GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH
THIS IS NOT EBAY
REMEMBER ALL SALES CASH AND NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES
