Im not to familiar on using this as a means of doing business but I have sold personal items and have made mistakes so am posting a few of the scams that can go on with ebay.

first there are those bidders that are scammers that want to purchase your items and like craigslist want you to ship to other countries.
One big mistake thats common is that they want you to ship to an address different then there ebay/paypal address.

***Never ship to another address.****
they will end up saying that you did not ship the item and ebay/paypal will refund them back and you lose money and your product.

Another thing like craigslist is they like to do business out side of ebay and the wire transfer/ casiers check  BS. (just dont do it inless you have done a lot of business in the past.)

They have also mastered sending fake paypal emails stating that your money is on hold but please ship the item, you will recieve your money after confimation that the item has been sent.

If you notice most of the time ebay and paypal takes the buyers side so make sure you do everything you can to keep you safe and your ebay selling to zero losses.

Im sure the mega ebay powersellers have much more please post for others.

There are also people on there that ask for a sample of what you have that they want to buy bulk from you they just want to test one item b4 they buy a lot. so they will try to get that one item free and you will never hear from them again.

Always answers ALL ebay emails on the ebay site.  Always check the emails in the ebay messages.  NEVER NEVER NEVER respond to emails in your regular email inbox unless it is also in your ebay messages inbox...if it ain't there....it is fake 100% sure everytime!!!

If somebody pays you $250 or more with paypal ...you MUST use a signature confirmation service!  NO EXCEPTIONS or you will lose dispute!

Try to always use delivery confirmation or you will lose any paypal dispute.

Best of luck...i will think of more later.
