I am interested in Alibaba.com and have been looking and doing some research but, I trust people on this forum to give credible information. Does anyone have any experience with Alibaba.com I am specifically interested in purchasing from suppliers in China. I have found some good deals after talking with a few companies. But not sure if they can be trusted. Any incite would be helpful. Thank you.

I would say a good % is scam. I would recommend you to stay away. But hey you learn from mistakes.

I have purchased from Alibaba. For the most part, I havent had any problems with them not shipping my orders or anything, but the only problem that I have with them is the quality of stuff that I order is cheap. Remember that you are ordering from China and they make stuff over there the cheapest way possible to save on costs. The costs of the products are low but when you are making a bulk order, just expect to pay alot of shipping and expect to have the possibility of having your shipment getting hung up in customs for a few days for inspection, especially on large orders.

Ask for a sample orders and ask for a list of US references before making a large purchase. If they are unwilling to give out references, run. I have dealt with some very professional Chinese suppliers who would jump through hoops in order to make me feel comfortable with making a purchase, these are the types of suppliers that you need to look for.

Thanks for the info,

I have mainly been looking for Tvs. I few suppliers have sent me price lists. I have also spoken to suppliers in the US which look a little better, not as cheap but look more reputable. I will let you know how things go if I decide to purchase anything from them.
